Panel today: 'Anniversary of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine'
Today is the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. K-State's Institute for Military History is sponsoring a panel discussion of the conflict. The panel, "Anniversary of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine," will take place at 2:30 p.m. today, Feb. 24, in 209 Calvin Hall or via Zoom.
The event is free and open to the public.
Hosted by Professor Michael Krysko, the panel features former K-State President and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers, and Professors Vera Smirnova and Andrew Orr. The panel will lead a discussion about the failure of Russia's attempt to conquer Ukraine, the reasons Ukraine has been so successful, the importance of Western aid to Ukraine, and the effects of the war inside of Russia.
This event is co-sponsored by the Institute for Military History, the history department, the political science department and the security studies program.
