Expanded clinical health care research opportunities with Stormont Vail

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Kansas State University faculty members interested in clinical health care research will have new opportunities for collaboration thanks to an expanded partnership with Stormont Vail.

The Kansas State University and Stormont Vail Health Research Collaboration launched a new clinical research space for collaboration between K-State faculty and students and Stormont Vail practitioners and patients.

The main objective of this partnership is to facilitate collaboration between K-State faculty and Stormont Vail stakeholders. Carl Ade, K-State associate professor of kinesiology, serves as the liaison between the university and Stormont Vail.

According to Ade, if a faculty member is leading a research project that requires a clinical study, Ade — thanks to this new collaboration — can help facilitate a connection with Stormont Vail's clinical research center to see if the study is feasible and potentially seek out eligible patients to participate.

Likewise, if there's a Stormont Vail physician or nurse who has an idea but no time or resources to explore it, they can reach out to Ade's team for connections to faculty members who are working in that research area.

With this collaboration, Ade aims to help cultivate the formation of collaborative research teams, streamline the process of initiating clinical research studies and enhance the availability of clinical research funding opportunities.

Interested faculty members can reach out to Ade at cade@k-state.edu.
