K-State International Education Week announces 10-day schedule

Join the Office of International Programs for K-State International Education Week, Nov. 8-17. This campuswide collaboration creates an increased awareness of the global impact that K-State provides by recognizing, advancing and elevating international engagements through a variety of events.

"This week provides a great opportunity for our university community to learn, absorb and support the international initiatives that make our campus a rich and diverse global arena," said Grant Chapman, associate provost for international programs. "We hope that all will take advantage and participate."

Wednesday, Nov. 8 

  • "Japan-U.S. Relations after World War II: A K-State Case Study." Hosted by K-State Libraries. 

Thursday, Nov. 9

  • "Exploring American Perspectives: From Kansas to the World." Hosted by the English Language Program. 
  • "Visual Thinking Strategies, Discussions and Language Learning." Hosted by the Beach Museum of Art.

Friday, Nov. 10

  • Coffee Hour: China. Hosted by the International Student and Scholar Services.
  • African Music Festival. Hosted by the African Student Union.

Saturday, Nov. 11

  • Diwali/Garba Night. Hosted by the Indian Student Association at K-State. 

Sunday, Nov. 12

  • International Food Festival. Hosted by the International Coordinating Council. 

Monday, Nov. 13

  • "Connecting Cultures: Wesch builds global bridges through academic exchange." Presented by Michael Wesch, professor of cultural anthropology. 
  • Study Abroad Student Panel. Hosted by the modern languages department. 

Tuesday, Nov. 14

  • "Cross-cultural Collaboration: Sharing the student benefits and faculty input of this global opportunity." Hosted by Cross Cultural International Program. 
  • Vernon Larson Lecture: "First-generation Students' Education Abroad Experience." Hosted by the Office of International Programs, Education Abroad and the First-generation Student Center. 
  • Fulbright Scholars Information Session. Hosted by the Fulbright Scholar Program and the Office of Research Development. 

Wednesday, Nov. 15

  • International Film Festival: "Embrace of the Serpent (2015)" Colombia/ Venezuela/Argentina. Hosted by the Wildcat Film Appreciation Society. 

Thursday, Nov. 16

  • International Film Festival: "Close Up (1990)" Iran. Hosted by the Wildcat Film Appreciation Society. 

Friday, Nov. 17

  • International Collaboration Incentive Grant nomination deadline. Sponsored by the Office of International Programs. 
  • International Film Festival: "EO (2022)" Poland. Hosted by the Wildcat Film Appreciation Society.
