Logan Britton named Emerging Scholar by Southern Agricultural Economics Association

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Logan Britton, assistant professor of agricultural economics, was named one of three Emerging Scholars by the Southern Agricultural Economics Association, or SAEA. Britton received the award at the 56th SAEA annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, on Feb. 5.

This award is presented annually to high-performing early-career professionals in agricultural economics in each area of the land-grant mission — teaching, research and extension. Britton received the 2024 Emerging Scholar Award for Teaching.

Britton teaches courses in agricultural finance, agribusiness logistics, contemporary issues in global food systems and computer decision tools. His research centers on topics related to consumer demand, supply chains, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Britton also serves as an academic advisor to undergraduate students and mentors doctoral students as instructors.

He earned his doctorate in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University, a master's degree in agricultural economics from K-State, and a bachelor's degree in agricultural communications and journalism from K-State.
