K-State celebrates STEAM innovation at Kansas Science Festival
Many Kansas State University-affiliated groups participated in the 2024 Kansas Science Festival on April 27, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering science, technology, engineering, arts and math, or STEAM, exploration and education. The event drew hundreds of STEAM enthusiasts.
Notable participants included several labs within the Division of Biology and the departments of physics, agronomy, geology and chemistry, showcasing their groundbreaking research.
Additional contributions came from the K-State Ecology Club, the American Fisheries Society Student Subunit, the Chapman Center for Rural Studies, the Popenoe Entomology Club, and the Kansas Radon Program. The K-State English department, College of Veterinary Medicine's Vetahumanz Role Team, K-State Engineers Without Borders, and the student chapter of the American Nuclear Society provided further insights into the diverse fields of study at Kansas State University.
The festival's success was further supported by K-State as the hospitality sponsor, providing lunches for presenters and volunteers. The College of Arts and Science sponsored a block of events, and the K-State chapter of the American Chemical Society and Alice Boyle contributed as a table sponsor.
The dedication and participation of all involved not only made this year's festival a landmark event but also underscored the vibrant community and collaborative spirit that drives STEAM advancement. The festival continues to be a beacon of knowledge, innovation and community engagement that is eagerly anticipated each year.
