MANHATTAN — Kansas State University Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Pat Bosco has selected 12 students for the Dean of Student Life Outstanding Graduating Senior Award.
Inaugurated in 1999 and sponsored by the K-State Parents and Family Association, the award recognizes seniors for their significant contributions to the university. Staff members in the Division of Student Life nominate students they find deserving of the award. Final award winners are selected by a committee of student life staff members who then make recommendations to Bosco.
"A significant and powerful ingredient in our K-State brand is outstanding student ownership in every aspect of our school," Bosco said. "While we are recognizing these 12 students, there are hundreds more who care as much about student life and our university community."
The following students are recipients of the honor:
Trystan Mies, senior in accounting, Conway Springs; Trenton Kennedy, senior in entrepreneurship, Frankfort.
From Greater Kansas City: Gabrielle Riggs, senior in marketing, Lenexa; and Jack Ayres, senior in chemical engineering, Overland Park.
Haley Hannaman, senior in criminology, Scandia; Bryan Davis, senior in management information systems, and Reina Garcia, senior in journalism and mass communications, both from Topeka; Maxamillyan Badgett, senior in professional pilot/aerospace studies, Valley Falls; and Olivia Baalman, senior in computer science, and Marisol Garcia, senior in history, both from Wichita.
From out of state: Staci Gann, senior in family studies and human services, Liberty, Missouri.
From out of country: Mary Abounabhan, senior in management, Lebanon.
