Blue Key Scholarship recipients selected for 2019-2020

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University's Blue Key Senior Honorary has named recipients of Blue Key scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year.

All scholarship recipients underwent a rigorous application process. Each individual selected not only represents Blue Key’s values of scholarship, leadership and service, but also exemplifies the ideals of each scholarship they were awarded. The following students are scholarship recipients: 

Gabrielle Phillips, chemical engineering, pre-medicine, Andover, Greg Hardin Memorial Scholarship; Michaela Pingel, industrial engineering, Beloit, Greg Hardin Memorial Scholarship; Ronaldo Lopez, mechanical engineering, Dodge City, Bernard Franklin Opportunity Scholarship; Gonzalo Alcantar, industrial engineer, Garden City, Bernard Franklin Opportunity Scholarship; Faith Tuttle, political science and international studies, Gove, Blue Key Study Abroad Scholarship.

From Greater Kansas City: Sophie Craig, microbiology, Gardner, Walter Martin Memorial Scholarship; Cameron Jones, management and marketing, Lenexa, Robert Lewis Sophomore Leadership Award; Citlally Orozco, political science and American ethnic studies, Neal Atkison Junior Leadership Scholarship, and Zanaiya Peebles, biology, Neal Atkison Junior Leadership Scholarship, both from Overland Park; and Ariana Coker, life science, gerontology and pre-medicine, Shawnee, Chester E. Peters Student Development Award.

Riley Faulk, hospitality management, Lansing, Roy C. Langford Memorial Scholarship; Yusuf Ciftci, medical biochemistry, Manhattan, Roy C. Langford Memorial Scholarship; Grace Luebcke, animal sciences and industry, and pre-veterinary medicine, Marysville, Walter Martin Memorial Scholarship; Maggie Malmberg, biology, Phillipsburg, Neal Atkison Junior Leadership Scholarship; Nathan Bothwell, political science and communication studies, Chester E. Peters Student Development Award, and Sierra Staatz, chemical engineering and biological engineering, Blue Key Study Abroad Scholarship, both from Tonganoxie; Cade Ciesielski, philosophy, Valley Center, Robert Lewis Sophomore Leadership Award; and Bella Castro-Miller, apparel marketing, Wichita, Neal Atkison Junior Leadership Scholarship.

From out of state: Amir Williams, elementary education, Anchorage, Alaska, Bernard Franklin Opportunity Scholarship; and Alexandra Burnham, apparel and textiles, Rocklin, California, Chester E. Peters Student Development Award.
