Student death reported

MANHATTAN — Police have identified the student found dead this morning at Washington Marlatt Memorial Park.
At approximately 12:38 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, the Kansas State University Police Department responded to a call from Riley County Police Department concerning an unconscious male in a vehicle. Upon arriving, officers found Jerrad Kutina, senior in industrial engineering from Hoyt, in the vehicle. Evidence at the scene indicated and the county coroner has confirmed the cause of death to be self-inflicted.
Kansas State University Office of Student Life and Counseling Services are offering counseling and assistance to students and employees affected by Kutina’s death.

MANHATTAN — On Thursday, Dec. 12, at approximately 12:38 a.m., the Kansas State University Police Department responded to a call regarding an unconscious male in a vehicle at the Washington Marlatt Memorial Park. Upon arriving, officers found a deceased male in the vehicle who had taken his own life. The deceased male is a K-State student but the name is not being released pending family notification.
The Office of Student Life and Counseling Services are available to help anyone who may be affected.
Kansas State University will respond further once more details are available.
