MANHATTAN — College is all about the experience, and the latest rankings from the Princeton Review show Kansas State University provides one of the best student experiences in the nation, including offering the best quality of life.

K-State earns 11 Top 10 rankings — and several Top 20 rankings — in the Princeton Review's just-released "Best 388 Colleges for 2023," a national survey of students on what they think about their schools in categories that span academics, amenities, school services, campus culture, extracurriculars and more. The top 25 schools are included in each category.

Per the rankings, K-State is No. 1 in the nation for best quality of life; No. 2 for students who love their college; No. 3 for town-gown relations; No. 4 for happiest students and for best health services; No. 6 for college city and for athletic facilities; No. 7 for best career services and for best student support and counseling services; and No. 8 for best-run colleges and for best campus food. K-State also is No. 16 for most active student government and No. 19 for best college residence halls.

"These rankings reflect that K-State's student-centered approach truly makes a difference to our students, helping them flourish and succeed while in college so they can finish their degrees," said Thomas Lane, vice president for student life and dean of students. "They also show our many efforts to ensure student well-being, from personal needs to career resources, are very much appreciated by students."

Student well-being is a priority at K-State and the university offers services such as the Morrison Family Center for Student Well-being and the You@KSU initiative, which both provide resources and assistance for student physical, emotional and mental health. Students also give Top 10 marks to K-State for the K-State Career Center, which helps students put their best foot forward when it comes to finding internships and jobs, and to the physical and mental health services offered by Lafene Health Center and Lafene Counseling and Psychological Services.

K-State's highly ranked student experience also includes keeping college affordable. The university has been rated the best value in Kansas by SmartAsset, and K-State provides more than $72 million in scholarships and awards annually to help keep students in school. Once they earn their degree, K-State students find success, with 97% percent of K-State graduates finding a job or furthering their education, according to the university's latest survey.

Also getting high marks in the rankings is K-State's main campus home, Manhattan. Town-gown relations are ranked No. 3 in the nation, while Manhattan is the No. 6 college city.
