MANHATTAN — Kansas State University's McCain Performance Series presents country rock band Blackberry Smoke at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.
Throughout their career, Blackberry Smoke has embodied Georgia's rich musical legacy, honoring the people, places and sounds of their home state. During the past two decades, the band has toured with ZZ Top, Zac Brown Band and Eric Church, and the group's last four full-length recordings reached the top 10 of the Billboard country charts.
The band's 2021 release, "You Hear Georgia," reached No. 1 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums chart. Their critically acclaimed eighth studio album, "Be Right Here," was released in February 2024. It is the final album with drummer and band co-founder Brit Turner, who died on March 3.
