MANHATTAN — Kansas State University's fourth annual Women in Business Career Summit will empower attendees through workshops, networking opportunities and speakers from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.
The event, which is hosted by the College of Business Administration's Center for Principled Business, is open to students, faculty, staff, corporate partners and community professionals. The summit is designed to inspire women through their academic and professional journeys, and participants will walk away with practical tools to support their personal and professional development.
This year's summit features two K-State alumnae as keynote speakers: Sheila Ellis-Glasper, founder and CEO of SEG Media Collective; and Charlene Lake, senior vice president and chief sustainability officer at AT&T.
Ellis-Glasper will open the summit by sharing her insights about confidence, leadership and entrepreneurship. Lake will deliver the luncheon keynote, focusing on her career journey and offering wisdom for women in today's business landscape.
The summit will offer breakout sessions and workshops that provide practical insights and opportunities to connect with industry leaders. K-State First Lady Sally Linton will lead one such workshop. Register for the summit online.
Last year, the Women in Business Initiative awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships to high school and college students. Scholarships can be used for students to apply toward any class offered through the K-State's College of Business Administration. Applications for this year's scholarships are now open, and the deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 25.
The Women in Business Career Summit is free for all students, faculty, and staff, thanks to the generous support of corporate partners. Lunch will be provided for registered participants.
