College of Education celebrates outstanding students

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University's College of Education is recognizing 10 fall 2024 undergraduate and graduate students for excellence in and out of the classroom.
The undergraduate students will be honored at the college's commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Bramlage Coliseum. The graduate students will be recognized at the college's graduate brunch on Friday, December 13.
The Outstanding Future Teacher Award recognizes two outstanding future teachers who demonstrate excellence during their professional clinical experiences as supported and documented by their cooperating teachers, university supervisors and clinical instructors. The recipients are Olivia Greenman, elementary education, Wichita, and Kylie Kiser, secondary social studies education, Springfield, Nebraska.
The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award recognizes students whose scholarship and leadership left an indelible mark on their college, campus and community activities. Students recognized are Audra Grabendike, elementary education, Wichita; Carmen De Leon, elementary education, and Zoe Dyer, elementary education, both from Manhattan; Darius Skillen, secondary mathematics education, Rock Port, Missouri; and Michaela Snead, secondary mathematics education, Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
The Outstanding Graduate Student in Education Award is presented to a master's graduate and a doctoral graduate. The master's awardee is Megan Scott, academic advising, Whiteford, Maryland, and the doctoral awardee is Chris Lowe, Ed.D. in educational leadership, Shawnee.
The Kansas State Department of Education recognized two Teachers of Promise from each teacher preparation program in the state earlier this fall. The Kansas State University students who received this honor were Zoe Dyer, elementary education, Manhattan, and Leah Renyer, secondary mathematics education, Sabetha.
