Police investigating student death

MANHATTAN — The Kansas State University Police Department is currently investigating the death of a K-State student. On Saturday, April 2, at approximately 11:09 a.m., the Kansas State University Police Department was notified of a possible deceased person in a parking lot on the Manhattan campus. Upon arrival, officers found a male student deceased in a vehicle of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing and the name of the student is not being released pending notification of family.

Police identify student found deceased on April 2
MANHATTAN — Police have identified Jacob Horton, freshman in education, Easton, as the student found deceased over the weekend.
At 11:09 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, the Kansas State University Police Department was notified of a possible deceased person in a parking lot on the Manhattan campus. Upon arrival, officers found a male student in a vehicle deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said the incident is being investigated as a suicide.
The Office of Student Life and Counseling Services are offering counseling and assistance to students and employees affected by Horton's death.
