The Kansas State University Symphony Orchestra is a vibrant community of musicians representing many major fields of study including music performance, music education, engineering, architecture, computer programming, business, foreign language, and many more. All musicians are welcome!
Under the direction of Dr. Rachel Dirks, the orchestra performs exciting and engaging concerts in McCain Auditorium featuring a wide array of literature from contemporary works to classical favorites. Scholarship Auditions for Fall 2025 String Students - February 5 & 8!
Scholarship auditions for all string musicians will be held in February 2025. Scholarships are available for all music performance and music education majors, music minors, as well as non-music major string musicians wishing to continue their musical journey with the K-State Symphony Orchestra. K-State Orchestra Program Launches New Ensemble!
The Wild Catz String Orchestra (WCSO) is a brand new non-auditioned string orchestra meeting the first half of the Spring 2025 semester. The WCSO will meet once per week on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM. The ensemble will perform a final concert on Monday, March 10 at 7:30 PM. For more information visit the WCSO FAQ's Page.
