About Anthropology

Anthropologists are the best-equipped professionals to identify and meet the challenges of our rapidly changing world. At Kansas State University students have access to a variety of different anthropology courses in three of the main anthropological subdisciplines. They can major or minor in Anthropology (B.A. or B.S. tracks), complete one or more of our three certificates (Global health, Medicine and Society; Museum Studies, and Religious Studies), and gain unique experiences through teaching and research assistantships, and hands-on training in digital ethnography, archaeology, osteology, forensic anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and human evolution.

Our faculty cover three major subfields of anthropology. Their dedication to serving undergraduate students has earned them prestigious university, state, and national teaching awards. The enduring success of our faculty and students has brought world-wide recognition to the Anthropology Program at Kansas State University. As an integral part of K-State's land-grant mission, our program has long served the people of Kansas, the nation, and the world. This is exemplified by the history of the active archaeological and research program of K-State's archaeology faculty.
