SIIL Initiatives
The vision of the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab is supported and enhanced by the work of these initiatives:
- The Center of Excellence on Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Nutrition (CE SAIN), housed at the Royal University of Agriculture, works to help improve food and nutritional security in Cambodia by supporting agricultural research and education and promoting innovation.
- Haiti Agricultural University Partnership: Center of Excellence on Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience to Climate-Change in Haiti (CEMARCH), led by Kansas State University, strengthens partner capacity, fosters agricultural education, training, research, and extension, and links farmers with the private sector to address food and nutritional security in Haiti.
- The Innovation, Research, Extension and Advisory Coordination Hub (iREACH) operates under the leadership of CORAF and SIIL, and its vision is a strengthened CORAF better able to coordinate, align and integrate research, extension and advisory activities within focal counties.
- Economic Impact of Improved Bean Varieties in Central America and USA, led by Michigan State University and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), is a study to estimate the economic impact of investments made by the former Legume Innovation Lab, CIAT and other organizations and universities on bean breeding with the focus on the USA, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Haiti.
