History of One Health spotlighted in newsletter
The latest issue of the One Health Newsletter is now available at olathe.k-state.edu/onehealthnewsletter.
This issue is about the history of One Health. It covers how the Chicago stockyards were pivotal in shaping the One Health approach, how NASA's satellite data can help address global health risks, how the U.S. and Europe established food safety measures for the shellfish trade and how malnutrition is a pressing public health concern in Mali.
The next issue will be about One Health collaborations and partnerships, with an expected publication in April 2025. One Health advocates, students, faculty and staff can submit article ideas on this topic.
The One Health initiative is a collaborative effort by a diverse group of scientists and health professionals from around the world to optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems. The newsletter is now hosted by K-State Olathe, and it will publish twice annually.
