2024 Women in Business Career Summit awards more than $40,000 in scholarships

The K-State College of Business Administration held its fourth annual Women in Business Career Summit on Oct. 28 at the K-State Student Union and the Business Building.

More than 600 high school and college students, faculty and staff members, corporate partners, and working professionals gathered together to participate in the day's events. More than $40,000 in scholarships were awarded to both current and prospective K-State students during the event.

The following high school students are scholarship recipients:

Eli Ervin, Burlington; Lillian Puvogel, Centralia; Kylee Shivers, Clay Center; Casaiia Mullen, Council Grove; Ella Phillips, Hesston; Ariana Ruiz, Liberty; Braedee Weathern, Minneapolis; Keyle Ellsworth, Overland Park; Shalee Isom, Riley; Addison Sibley, Topeka; and Molly Zachgo, Wamego.

From out of state: Annika Andricks, Wildwood, Missouri; and Audrey Anderson, St. Paul, Nebraska.

The following are college student scholarship recipients:

Desirae Martinez, Kalyn Walter and Riley Smith, business administration; Davis Guetterman, Maggie Lesmeister, Anna Nordberg and Sofia Steinmetz, accounting; Kate Hermelink, Silvia Ruiz Diaz, Sophie Schumacher and Zoe Schumacher, marketing; and Saige Clement, sales.

Presented by the Center for Principled Business at Kansas State University, the Career Summit featured diverse breakout sessions to empower women in different stages of their academic and professional journeys. Participants engaged in a day dedicated to personal and professional growth, networking, scholarships and new learning opportunities. Learn more about the event.

This year's summit highlighted keynote speakers Charlene Lake, '83, chief sustainability officer and senior vice president of corporate responsibility at AT&T, and Sheila Ellis-Glasper, '10, founder, CEO and marketing strategist at SEG Media Collective LLC.
