Call for nominations: 2025 University Outstanding Scholars Awards
Submitted by the Office of the Provost
The Office of the Provost announces the call for nominations for the 2025 University Outstanding Scholars Awards.
The awards were started last year as a Next-Gen K-State strategic initiative, with the first cohort being selected in May 2024. These awards are designed to recognize outstanding mid-career tenured faculty members who are on an accelerated path for continued academic distinction. In addition to being named a university outstanding scholar, each awardee will receive a $10,000 base salary increase.
Full-time faculty members from every school or college who hold the rank of tenured associate professor are eligible for this award. Nominations may be made by any K-State employee; however, self-nominations are discouraged. Submissions are due to the provost by Feb. 28, 2025, via Microsoft Form.
It is anticipated that awards will be announced the first week of May and appointments will begin in July.
Kansas State University has exceptional faculty, and we are pleased to add this award to others like the Coffman Chair for University Distinguished Teaching Scholars, and our University Distinguished Professors. Faculty teaching, research, service and engagement are at the heart of K-State, and the University Outstanding Scholar Awards are an added way to help identify and recognize our wide-ranging talent at the mid-career level and provide more recognition of superlative faculty.
Questions regarding the process should be submitted to provounivawards@k-state.edu.
