Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Gov. Laura Kelly has declared Thursday, Jan. 9, as a day of mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter and ordered State of Kansas offices to be closed. Kansas State University will observe the day of mourning.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, the university will be on limited operations with essential personnel only. Please check with direct supervisors with any questions on whether to report for work. Employees should contact their HR Liaison with questions about reporting time on this day.

Intersession classes, including online courses, will not be held. Students with active internships should report as instructed by the supervisor. Individual questions should be directed to instructors.
