Seeking military affiliated students to participate in a focus group
Counseling services is looking for currently enrolled K-State students to participate in a research study to help determine the specific mental wellness needs of K-State's military-affiliated student population. We are working on developing a free online program that will provide military-affiliated students with a supportive educational environment geared toward improving their academic and social success throughout the course of their education.
To qualify for participation, students must meet one of the following criteria:
- Current or prior service member of the U.S. military
- Spouse, partner or significant other of a service member
- Immediate family member — college-age children, parents, siblings — of a service member.
Participants must also be currently enrolled as a K-State student
Participants will be asked to fill out a brief survey, serve as part of a focus group that will help us determine topics of importance in the academic life of a K-State military-affiliated student, and provide a few written response in regards to what they see as being important to this population's academic and social success.
Snacks and beverages will be provided for focus group sessions and all participants will be entered into a drawing to win one of two $50 gift cards to an area business of their choosing.
Participation is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time.
