Civil engineering professor named chair of national committee
Sunanda Dissanayake, associate professor of civil engineering at Kansas State University, has been appointed chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers Transportation and Development Institute's Transportation Safety Committee.
The purpose of the committee is to disseminate safety information, and provide education and training pertaining to safety issues related to the planning, design, construction and operation of transportation facilities.
Another K-State faculty member serving on the committee is Eugene Russell, professor emeritus of civil engineering.
