K-State alumni membership No. 1 in Big 12 for 18th consecutive year
Kansas State University alumni have demonstrated again why they are regarded to be among the most loyal graduates in the nation. Based on recent data, K-State ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference for the percentage of graduates who are members of their respective alumni associations.
"This marks the 18th consecutive year that K-State has finished in the top position among Big 12 institutions, said Megan Jurgensmeier, associate director of membership for the K-State Alumni Association.
"With more than 41,000 members, we are honored with the loyalty of our K-State family and proud to offer membership benefits that K-State alumni value,” said Amy Button Renz, association president and CEO.
The K-State Alumni Association also is building on four consecutive years of steady increase in the involvement of individuals in alumni association-sponsored activities. Last year was a record year for K-State family attendance and support. Nearly 118,000 alumni and friends participated in more than 1,000 association-sponsored events and programs around the world.
"We couldn’t do it without the support, talents and hard work from our board of directors and the alumni association staff," Button added. "They deserve credit for the alumni association’s continued success."
K-State President Kirk Schulz said, "Earning this top ranking for 18 consecutive years clearly demonstrates that K-State alumni support is unmatched in the Big 12. A strong and growing alumni association is integral to becoming a Top 50 public research university."
