Submitted by Learning and Development
Learning and development is announcing two new training opportunities.
• Respectful Work Relationships (WTD125) will be presented by Michelle White-Godinet, assistant director of affirmative action, from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, in Room 226 at the K-State Student Union. The purpose of the session is to create an awareness of the needs of others in order to accept and acknowledge how their needs differ from our own needs. Respectful working relationships and respectful workplaces are integral components to increased productivity, teamwork and morale. The skills learned in this session will contribute to the minimization of negative conflict and subsequently discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints. Topics covered will be:
- Explaining the importance of respectful relationships and respectful workplaces
- Identifying some causes of interpersonal conflict
- Discussing communication skills that promote respectful relationships and respectful workplaces
- Identifying K-State resources to address interpersonal conflict
• Title IX Training (WTD168) will be presented by Ameerah McBride, investigator/deputy Title IX coordinator of affirmative action, from 9-11 a.m. Monday, April 14, in Room 226 at the K-State Student Union. Sexual harassment and assault on campus is a serious issue for all members of the K-State community. This training is designed for all students, faculty and staff and will focus on defining the university's legal obligation to enforce Title IX regulations, review the complaint and investigation process, as well as provide information on prevention methods such as bystander intervention.
To register for one of these opportunities, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
