Round table discussion about the role of writing is Wednesday
Kansas State University professors from departments across campus will share their perspectives on the role of writing in the classroom and in particular academic fields. The event will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the Hemisphere Room of Hale Library.
Speakers include Lauri Baker, agriculture communications; Kristin Corwin, physics; Jane Marshall, human ecology; Michael McGlynn, architecture; and Sue Zschoche, history.
"The aim of the event is to celebrate the range of writing taught across the campus and to encourage teachers to build on the writing their students have done in other courses," said David Smit, professor English.
The conversation is sponsored by the department of English, the expository writing program and the Rhetoric and Composition Society. Refreshments will be provided.
