Celebrate the retirement of Jim Lewis, the director of international admissions and recruiting
Jim Lewis, Office of International Programs director of international admissions and recruiting, is retiring after 24 years of service to Kansas State University. Join us in celebrating his retirement from 2-4 p.m. Monday, May 12, in the K-State Student Union Cottonwood Room. Remarks will start around 2:30 p.m.
"Jim has been instrumental in elevating Kansas State University's global presence with recruiting trips around the world and the establishment of recruiting and admissions offices, which have attracted a record high number of international students," said Marcelo Sabates, associate provost of international programs. "This semester of 2,113 international students on our campus is an all-time high for international student enrollment."
Sabates also reflected on the future of internationalization initiatives at the university.
"When Kansas State University celebrates our 200th anniversary we will look back and clearly see the before and after efforts of Jim Lewis in terms of international diversification," Sabates said. "I know of no better definition of legacy."
