Students, alumni representing K-State in performances across the US, abroad
Students and alumni from the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance are representing K-State in performances across the U.S. and abroad this summer.
Alex Spence, tenor, and alum Kirsten Hyde, soprano, are attending the Franco-American Voice Academy, or FAVA, in Saltzburg, Austria. Spence will perform the roles of Monastatos in "Die Zauberflöte" and Bastiene in "Bastien und Bastienne." Hyde will perform the role of Erste Dame in "Die Zauberflöte."
Shannon Moore, mezzo-soprano, will perform the role of Mercure in "Orpheus and the Underworld" at Franco-American Voice Academy in Austin, Texas.
Donovan Woods, baritone, is cast as Donkey in "Shrek the Musical" at the Crane River Theatre, Kearney, Nebraska.
Sarah Stoulil, soprano, is cast in "Honk" at Theatre in the Park, Shawnee Mission Kansas.
Drew Horton, Rachel Hunt and Jair Holquin are leads in the musical "Company" with Junction City Little Theatre.
Drew Knapp, bass-baritone, will attend the Druid City Opera Workshop at the University of Alabama.
Several students will be featured at the Starlight Theatre Annual Gala that salutes the shows and concerts for the 2014 season. Featured soloists are Elise Poehling, Sarah Stoulil, Donovan Woods and Randy Rhoten. This will be directed by Jay Cranford, assistant professor in music, theatre and dance.
