Interim head named for computing and information sciences department
Scott DeLoach has been named interim head of the department of computing and information sciences in the College of Engineering, effective July 20. He assumes the duties of Gurdip Singh, current department head, who has accepted a two-year assignment as program director with the National Science Foundation in Arlington, Virginia.
DeLoach, professor of computing and information sciences, joined the department in 2001. Before coming to K-State, he was an assistant professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology and was an officer in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, and his master's degree and doctorate from the Air Force Institute of Technology, all in computer engineering.
"I have every confidence that Scott DeLoach will do an outstanding job filling in during Gurdip Singh's time with the National Science Foundation," said Gary Clark, senior associate dean of the College of Engineering. "We are fortunate to have someone with Scott's qualifications step into this role."
