Geography graduate student wins national honor society scholarship
Bill Wetherholt, doctoral candidate in geography, was recently honored with the Robert Buzzard Graduate Student Scholarship by Gamma Theta Upsilon, the international geography honor society. Wetherholt was selected because of his excellent academic record and outstanding contributions to the Beta Psi chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon at Kansas State University. The scholarship is $1,000.
Wetherholt is the only Buzzard Graduate Student winner in the U.S. this year and the 18th K-State geography student to receive a Gamma Theta Upsilon scholarship since they were first awarded in 1965. He is completing his doctoral dissertation under the direction of Lisa Harrington, professor.
