Call for proposals: Institute for Student Learning Assessment
Submitted by Frederick Burrack
The 2014 Institute for Student Learning Assessment annual conference, sponsored by the Office of Assessment and the Teaching and Learning Center, is seeking proposals that will demonstrate effective classroom assessment practice, face-to-face and online; encourage opportunities for learner engagement and student centered learning; and inform theory and research in student learning assessment.
The Institute for Student Learning Assessment at Kansas State University features best practice posters, sessions and workshops focused on the assessment of student learning. This year's institute also provides numerous networking opportunities for college/university educators across Kansas, the surrounding region and the universities of the Big 12.
Suggested proposals topic areas include:
- Assessment strategies for the classroom
- Assessing first-year students for retention
- Connecting community colleges and four-year institutions through academic and student life assessments
- Assessing learning in online courses
Complete the proposal form and submit by Sept. 29. The proposal asks for title, abstract, presentation type and topic area.
The Institute for Student Learning Assessment will be Nov. 14 at the K-State Student Union.
