Development awards, research grants proposals, question and answer session offered
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announces a call for proposals for the fall 2014 Faculty Development Awards and University Small Research Grants.
The awards and grants are for K-State faculty members who are interested in receiving assistance in their scholarly activities and professional development. This is a great opportunity for seed funding to help launch to bigger and better opportunities. Descriptions of the awards are given below.
A question and answer session will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2. Location for the Q-and-A session will be given upon registration — yes, registration is important. For the Q-and-A registration, please include your full name, department, phone number, and email address to orsp@k-state.edu. Confirmation, including location, will be emailed to you. If you are on the Salina or Olathe campuses and want to participate via conference call, please note this in the email as well and you will be given call in information and a PIN.
The president's Faculty Development Awards program provides support to travel to international meetings, primarily at international locations; to participate in foreign exchanges — such as National Endowment for the Humanities fellowships; and to meet with program officers of potential external sponsors. All K-State faculty members with assistant professor, associate professor or professor appointments are eligible for this award.
The University Small Research Grants program is a seed grant program to support early research, scholarly activity and other creative efforts. If you seek travel support that will occur before July 1, apply in the fall competition. Fall funding must be committed before the close of the current fiscal year, June 30. If you seek travel support that will occur after June 30, apply in the spring competition. Spring funding is allocated after the next fiscal year begins, July 1. Additional information is available.
