National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week events Sept. 15-19
In 2009, the National Postdoctoral Association launched National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week to create awareness of and recognize the contributions that postdocs make to scientific research.
Two events recognize postdoctoral fellows at K-State this week. An ice-cream and coffee social, organized by postdoctoral staff in the plant pathology department, will be from 2:45-3:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Willis Conference room on the fourth floor of Throckmorton Hall. The event is sponsored by the plant pathology department office and the K-State Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering office, or KAWSE.
All postdocs, research scientists, professors and graduate students are encouraged to attend. K-State Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering's informal welcome back and Postdoctoral Appreciation Week gathering will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Manhattan Country Club, 1531 N. 10th St.
Anyone interested in enriching the lives of women in science, technology, engineering and math disciplines and recognizing the contributions of women postdocs is welcome to attend this event.
