Speak Up, a socially engaged art performance, seeks volunteers
Alexis Pultz and Lauren Lohfink, both digital art seniors, are seeking assistance with Speak Up, a socially engaged art performance, at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 15 in the quad behind Willard Hall.
The project is to help raise awareness about sexual violence on campus and the changes that can be made. The performance will involve statistics. Pultz and Lohfink need a very large group of people for a short amount of time. Participants will be asked to stand in one spot for 15 minutes. It will be simple and will help raise awareness.
According to Pultz and Lohfink, seeing bodies will help people visualize and bring the statistics to life, which can drive the point home a lot better than just numbers. Participants are asked to show up least 10 minutes early and wear a red shirt — this part is mandatory and important to the aesthetics and the message of the whole performance.
