Deadline for career development grants for women is Dec. 15

Applications are being accepted for 2015-16 American Association of University Women Career Development Grants to support women pursing a certificate or degree to advance their careers, change careers, or re-enter the workforce and whose bachelor's degree was received at least five years before the award period.

Primary consideration is given to women of color, women pursing credentials in nontraditional fields and women who do not currently hold an advanced degree. Award amounts for one-year grants are $2,000-$12,000. The application deadline is Dec. 1. Apply online.

American Association of University Women is the nation's largest sources of private funding for educational programs that benefit women and girls, providing nearly $4 million annually in fellowships and grants. The organization advances equality for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. It is a nationwide network of more than 170,000 members and supporters, 1,000 local branches and 800 college university partners.

  • International Fellowships, deadline Dec. 1;
  • Selected Professions Fellowships, deadline Jan. 10, 2015; and
  • Community Action Grants, deadline Jan. 15, 2015.
