Band staff attends, presents at 65th annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic
Frank Tracz, director of bands, and Don Linn, assistant director of bands, attended the 65th annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Dec. 13-17.
The clinic is the largest and most prestigious of its kind in the instrumental music world, attracting more than 17,000 instrumental music educators from all over the world for a week of clinics, presentations and performances. The presentations and sessions are given by the world’s leading conductors and music educators and the performances at the conference represent the finest public school, collegiate and professional ensembles from around the world.
K-State was well represented by its two directors, six graduate assistants and eight senior music education undergraduates.
Tracz presented a session at the conference geared toward young directors and college students entering the profession. This trip also gave the band staff an opportunity to recruit graduate and undergraduate students at the national and international levels.
