African dance company to teach, perform at K-State
Saakumu Dance Troupe will teach and perform Feb. 2-4 at K-State's Manhattan campus. The troupe, directed by Bernard Woma, master musician from Ghana, West Africa, is dedicated to introducing audiences to traditional and contemporary African music and dance.
The troupe will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, in All Faiths Chapel. Admission is free.
African dance master class will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in 008 Nichols Hall Studio. All K-State students may attend but space is limited. The group will teach a new dance to be premiered at SpringDance 2015.
