Open forum about chilled water plant expansion project
K-State Facilities invites the university community to an open forum presenting the scope of work and project details for the construction of a new chilled water plant beginning in the spring.
Ryan Swanson, associate vice present for facilities and university architect, will give a short presentation beginning at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 in Room 227 at the K-State Student Union. Public review and comment on the project will follow until 5 p.m.
Construction includes underground piping to serve many campus buildings and work inside existing buildings to upgrade HVAC systems. This project will extend chilled water capacity on campus, which will allow future growth opportunities to renovate older existing buildings onto the chilled water system and to help meet the goals of the 2025 Facilities and Infrastructure plan.
