Live legal drama of K-State Mock Trial
Come and watch the live legal drama of Andy and Lee Park v. Hayden Duran brought to life by K-State's Mock Trial Team. The fictional case involves the shooting of 11-year-old Sydney Park by her best friend and neighbor, Jesse Duran. Four years after the tragedy, Parks' parents filed a lawsuit in her name against Duran's parent, Hayden.
The K-State Mock Trial Team will have two public trials on Sunday, Feb. 15, in the Purple Pride Room of the K-State Alumni Center. The first will begin at 9 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
For anyone interested in law school, courtroom procedure or building public speaking or acting skills, this is a great opportunity to learn more about college mock trial. There will be an hourlong break between the two trials, at which point the team's attorneys, coaches and student competitors would be happy to answer any questions you have about mock trial.
The K-State Mock Trial team is nationally ranked and travels to compete against other teams. This scrimmage will help the team prepare for the regional tournament coming up next month.
