Harvard Divinity School theologian to give public lecture

Submitted by David Wood

Rev. Dr. Stephanie Paulsell

Ecumenical Campus Ministry, an official student organization at Kansas State University, presents the inaugural Theologian-in-Residence featuring the Rev. Stephanie Paulsell, Harvard Divinity School Houghton professor of practice of ministry studies, Feb. 28-March 2.

As part of Paulsell's residency at K-State, she will present the public lecture "Experimental Faith and the Shape of Our Lives," at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, in the K-State Alumni Center ballroom.

Paulsell studies the points of intersection between intellectual work and spiritual practice, between the academic study of religion and the practices of ministry, and between the contemplative and active dimensions of the vocations of minister and teacher.

She is the author of "Honoring the Body: Meditations on a Christian Practice" and co-editor of "The Scope of Our Art: The Vocation of the Theological Teacher." She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

Paulsell's visit is made possible by grants provided through the Campus Ministry Theological Exploration of Vocation Initiative of the Lilly Endowment Inc. and the Kansas Bible chair of the Christian Church in Kansas, Disciples of Christ.
