Reminder: Melissa-Harris Perry presents 'Silent Voices and the Fight for Justice' today
Please join Feminists Igniting Resistance and Empowerment, American Ethnic Studies Student Association, and the Eta Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. at 7 p.m. Monday, May 4, in Forum Hall in the K-State Student Union for a lecture by Melissa Harris-Perry, MSNBC talk show host and national political commentator. Harris-Perry will present "Silent Voices and the Fight for Justice."
The public lecture will be the centrality and marginalization of women of color and trans people of color in struggles for racial justice. This is a timely and urgent topic in light of the growing visibility and publicity around police brutality and murder, as well as the failures of the criminal system to address this epidemic of state violence.
There will be a question and answer period following Harris-Perry’s talk. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
