Submitted by Monica Strathman

Congratulations to Brooke Boyington who was awarded a $6,000 scholarship from Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Boyington is majoring in family studies and human services and minoring in leadership studies. She was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma in 2014, and currently serves as the chapter's vice president. Boyington is very active in other campus organizations such as the K-State Rodeo Club, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, St. Isidore's Catholic Church and International Buddies. She also works as a community assistant for the Strong Community and participates in residential programs.

Through the classes for her minor in leadership studies, Boyington has been involved in the Cats for Cans project and was paired with an international student as a component of the LEAD 350: Culture and Context class in a partnership between the Staley School of Leadership Studies and the English Language Program.

Boyington's scholarship is the third $6,000 scholarship awarded to a K-State Phi Eta Sigma member in the past five years.
