Retirement reception for Susana Valdovinos set for Friday, May 22
Submitted by Michelle Langvardt
Please join the Office of the Provost in honoring Susana Valdovinos’ 15 years of service to Kansas State University with a retirement reception from 3–5 p.m. Friday, May 22, in the Barrett Den of the Alumni Center. A short program will start at 4 p.m.
Valdovinos began her service at K-State in 2000 as associate director of affirmative action where she worked for seven years counseling hiring authorities, investigating discrimination and harassment complaints, and developing and conducting workshops on policy compliance, especially sexual harassment and gender discrimination prevention programs. Her love for the university and advising administrators moved her to apply for and be hired in 2008 by Provost Duane Nellis as the director of the Office of Academic Personnel. Her service will end with the closing of the office due to the Human Capital Services reorganization plan.
This event is open to the campus community and refreshments will be provided.
