Accounting department awards $182,000 in scholarships

The Kansas State University Department of Accounting recently awarded $182,000 worth of scholarships for the 2015-16 school year at its annual scholarship gala.
In all, 126 scholarships were awarded to undergraduate and graduate students at the event. For undergraduates, there were 88 scholarships worth $122,000, while there were 38 scholarships awarded to students in the Master of Accountancy program, totaling $60,000
"We couldn't be happier that we were able to reward so many of our deserving students with these scholarships," said Brett Wilkinson, head of the department of accounting. "We can't thank our donors and corporate partners enough for making these scholarships possible, and investing in the future of these bright students."
In addition to the announcement of the scholarship awards, the department also recognized Barry Robinson, '81, as the 2015 inductee in the K-State Accounting Hall of Fame. Prior to his retirement in 2013, Robinson was the Tax Markets Leader for Ernst & Young's Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India Region, comprised of 90 countries across the region.
