Develop an international course and study tour with the Study Abroad Office
Faculty-led study abroad programs are among the best ways to internationalize your discipline and teaching portfolio. These programs pair courses with a short-term study tours abroad that range in length from a week to six weeks, run during academic breaks and typically are more affordable for students than many other study abroad options.
The process of developing a successful program takes some time and effort, but the Study Abroad Office at Kansas State University is here to help. We have some exciting new initiatives and policies in the works as a result of the 2025 Strategic Plan and Capacity Review with the Forum on Education Abroad. As a result, there is no better time to propose and lead a short-term program abroad.
To submit a proposal, simply contact Matt Yates, the new faculty-led programs coordinator, at mkyates@k-state.edu or 785-532-5990. You also may find all of our proposal materials, policies, procedures, deadlines and resources on the Faculty and Advisors section of the Study Abroad Office website.
We recommend the following deadlines for submitting your program proposals, based on the term you wish to award credit for your course:
- For summer 2016, proposals are due Aug. 1.
- For fall 2016, proposals are due Dec. 1.
- For spring 2017, proposals are due May 1, 2016.
