K-State Alumni Association names inaugural International Student Scholars
The K-State Alumni Association has recognized 20 Kansas State University international students with a new scholarship totaling $10,000.
The alumni association awarded the International Student Scholarships based on outstanding achievements and leadership.
"We are really excited about providing these scholarships," said Jessica Elmore, assistant director of multicultural programs for the K-State Alumni Association. "This is yet another way to assist our international students, who are an important part of our K-State family."
The following students are recipients: Cindy Elizabeth Ponce, Belize; Jiayi Wang, Xinxin Wang and Yukun Wen, all of China; Edwin Afful, Ghana; Yu Xian Lim, Malaysia; Mariana Guerra-Maupome, Mexico; Binny Bhandary, Nepal; Babatunde Alabi and Ganiyat Oluwaseun Shodunke, both of Nigeria; Maithili Nitin Mane, Virashree Hrushikesh Patel and Soma Sekhar Sriadibhatla, all of India; Sheryll Pugong Namingit and Robee Ybanez, both of Philippines; Amendra Fernando Hewa Dewage and Tharanga Kumudini Wijethunga Widanalage Dona, both of Sri Lanka; Krissana Ruang-Rit, Thailand; Tugce Gungormezler, Turkey; and Hyung Hwa Oh, South Korea.
