The corporate executives of Paris are making plans to dig up the city so that they can reap the benefits of the city’s oil. When Countess Aurelia hears of their devices, she teams up with her fellow outcasts to devise a plan to stop them. The play is a fantasy where good triumphs over evil. It is a comic fable that teaches and warns of the destructive forces of greed and a disregard for humanity. (Sound familiar@f0) And it explores the idea of “mad” as crazy, “mad” as mad, and “mad” as ultimate sanity.
Kate Anderson, associate professor of theater, is directing the show. Costume design is by Ryan Andrew Bruce, K-State theatre alum. Scenic design is by Jessica Thomas, graduate student in theater. Lighting design is by John Uthoff, associate professor in theater. Sound design is by Devan Castle, undergraduate student in theater.
