Researchers represent K-State at the Smithsonian U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Innovation Festival
Xiuzhi "Susan" Sun, university distinguished professor of grain science and industry, and Annelise Nguyen, associate professor of diagnostic medicine and pathobiology, will represent Kansas State University at the Smithsonian U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Innovation Festival at the National Museum of American History Sept. 26-27 in Washington, D.C. They are one of 13 groups chosen by a juried panel and will showcase hydrogel, a novel biomaterial with unique properties that has many biomedical applications in growing cells and delivering targeted cells or drugs into the body to treat diseases such as cancer.
The festival highlights inventors and offers visitors a chance to learn about American patent and intellectual property systems and how they support innovation.
