Week of Welcome activities kick off the school year
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
Kansas State University's Week of Welcome, a week of enlightening and engaging events for new and returning students, will be Aug. 22-29.
The official kickoff is the 2015 New Student Convocation from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Bramlage Coliseum. Members of the university's administration and current students will give advice on how new students can succeed and helpful tips about the university.
Following convocation, new and returning students are invited to a pep rally at 7 p.m. at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The event will include a free dinner and the chance to learn many of the university's traditions. The spirit continues after the pep rally with live music and free food at the K-State Proud social outside the stadium on the east side. Come learn more about K-State's largest student-led philanthropy.
The annual Late Night Pancake Feed will be from 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, to 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23. There will be free pancakes and sausages for the first 5,000 students, which is open to all students, music and inflatables. We invite students to come celebrate a successful move-in and new academic year, as well as meet some fellow K-Staters. This event is cosponsored by Housing and Dining Services and Greek Affairs.
