Prevention research to be topic of Jurich Social Justice lecture Thursday
Ruben Parra-Cardona, professor at Michigan State University, will speak on "Building Bridges of Social Justice: Embracing prevention research to support Latino/a communities in the U.S. and Mexico" at 3 p.m. Thursday in Little Theatre of the K-State Student Union.
At the second Tony Jurich Lecture on Social Justice, Parra-Cardona will discuss his research on mental health services to underserved populations and culturally adapted evidence-based parenting intervention.
Parra-Cardona is the associate director of the Michigan State University Research Consortium on Gender-based Violence. His presentation is sponsored by the marriage and family therapy program, School of Family Studies and Human Services in the College of Human Ecology.
