College of Business Administration invites community to participate in C. Clyde Run/Fun Run/Walk

Submitted by Brent Fritzemeier

4th Annual C. Clyde Run

The Kansas State University College of Business Administration invites the Manhattan and campus communities to participate in the fourth annual C. Clyde Run/Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 3.

A 5K Road Race will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the Midge's Mile Family Fun Run at 10 a.m. Racers can check in beginning at 8 a.m. at the race headquarters and starting line on the east lawn of Calvin Hall.

There is a per-race entry fee of $25 for nonstudents, $20 for students and $10 for children under 16 years of age. A team option is also available, with an $80 entry fee for a team of four runners, which can consist of four men, four women or a co-ed team of two men and two women.

Business students lead this community event, which the college has hosted since the inaugural C. Clyde Run in 2012 to benefit Shephard's Crossing in honor of its first dean, C. Clyde Jones. Jones has given much to the college and the Manhattan community, and continues to do so, especially with his work for Shephard's Crossing.

All proceeds from the event benefit Shephard's Crossing, which offers budget counseling, referrals and financial support for rent, utilities and prescription medications to low-income families with financial emergencies. Last year the event raised more than $20,000 for the organization.
